Privacy Policy
FIT by DeLeón respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how Rodney Poncedeleon ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the FIT by DeLeón iPhone app (the "App") and fitbydeleon.com (the "Website").
A plain-language summary of the same behavior is on how FIT handles your data. Where the two differ, this policy governs.
1. What This Policy Covers
This policy covers:
- The FIT by DeLeón iPhone app, including its Home Screen widgets
- The FIT by DeLeón Website
- Support communications you choose to send to us
This policy does not govern third-party services or websites, including Apple, the App Store, Apple Health, Instagram, your email provider, or any other website you visit through a link from the App or Website.
2. App Information Stored on Your Device
FIT by DeLeón is designed to be local-first.
The App may store the following information locally on your iPhone:
- Your optional profile or setup information, such as a name you choose to provide, fitness focus, goals, training preferences, workout days, and motivation selections
- Guided workout information, including Push-Up, Squat, Sit-Up and Lunge repetitions, Plank hold times, sets, planned and extra repetitions, session durations, workout history, and personal records
- Cardio workout information, including activity type, distance, pace, elapsed and moving time, and the recorded route for a walk, jog, or run
- Fitness Journal entries you create or edit, including logged workouts, lifts with sets, reps and weight, session times, and the body areas you select
- Weight entries and your goal weight
- Progress information, such as goals, streaks, and related fitness statistics
This information is used to provide the App's features on your device.
FIT by DeLeón does not require an account. We do not operate a FIT by DeLeón backend that receives your workout, cardio, route, journal, weight, profile, progress, or Health data. The App does not provide its own cloud-sync service.
Depending on your iPhone and Apple backup settings, local App data may be included in Apple-managed device backups. Those backups are controlled by Apple and your settings, not by a FIT by DeLeón cloud service.
3. How Workouts Are Counted
How the App counts a workout depends on the exercise and on the version of FIT by DeLeón you have installed.
Version 4.0 and Later
The App guides five exercises and counts them in three different ways:
- Push-Ups are counted by screen contact. You place your iPhone securely with the screen facing upward, and the App counts one repetition for each new valid screen contact during an active Push-Up session. The App's on-screen guidance asks you to lightly touch the screen with your nose at the bottom of each repetition, but the App only registers a screen contact. It does not identify your nose or any other part of your body.
- Squats, Sit-Ups, and Lunges are counted using your iPhone's motion sensors. Motion data is processed on your device during an active workout to count repetitions. It is not stored as motion data and is not uploaded. You may also count these exercises yourself by tapping the screen.
- Planks are measured as elapsed hold time rather than repetitions. Only the time you hold is recorded.
In these versions, the App does not request camera access for any feature. No camera images or video are captured, processed, transmitted, or stored. The App does not perform face detection, facial recognition, body detection, pose estimation, biometric identification, or any other computer-vision analysis. Individual touch events and individual motion samples are not permanently stored; the App saves the resulting workout record locally.
Version 2.4.0 through Version 3.x
These versions count Push-Up repetitions by screen contact in the same way described above and do not request camera access. Squat repetitions are counted using your iPhone's motion sensors.
Version 2.3.0 and Earlier
Earlier versions of FIT by DeLeón may offer optional camera-based Push-Up repetition tracking. When that feature is used, camera input is processed on your iPhone for on-device repetition detection. Camera images or video are not intentionally stored or transmitted to us or to a third-party analytics or advertising service.
You may deny or revoke camera access at any time in your iPhone's Settings. Any manual or alternate counting behavior available in these versions works as implemented in that version of the App.
4. Location and Cardio Workouts
The App's Cardio feature records walks, jogs, and runs. Measuring distance and pace, and recording your route, requires location information.
The App requests "While Using the App" location access and uses location only during an active, explicitly started Cardio workout. There is no passive, continuous, or background location monitoring outside an active session. So that a session you started can keep recording while your screen is locked, the App enables background location updates for the duration of that session only, and stops when the session ends.
When enabled for supported Cardio features, location information is processed on the device and is not sent to a FIT-operated server. The route for a completed Cardio workout is stored locally with that workout on your iPhone, and deleting the workout deletes its route.
Location access is optional. If you decline it, or turn Location Services off, the App will tell you that distance and route cannot be recorded. You can grant, change, or revoke location access at any time in your iPhone's Settings, including turning Precise Location off.
The App does not use location for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than measuring and displaying the Cardio workout you started.
5. Apple Health
Apple Health access is optional and requires your permission.
When you choose to authorize Apple Health access, FIT by DeLeón may read the Health data types you authorize in order to display them in the App. These may include steps, exercise time, walking and running distance, active energy burned, heart rate, and headphone audio exposure, depending on what you authorize.
FIT by DeLeón does not write or save data to Apple Health, and does not upload your Apple Health data to us.
You can review, change, or revoke Health permissions at any time through the Apple Health app or iPhone Settings. Apple Health itself is operated by Apple under Apple's own terms and privacy practices.
6. Home Screen Widgets
The App includes optional Home Screen widgets that display repetition totals.
To do this, the App writes a small snapshot of your repetition totals to a shared app-group container on your iPhone, which the widgets read. This sharing is local to your device. The widgets do not read Apple Health, do not read your Cardio routes or Journal entries, and do not send anything off the device.
7. Live Activities and Notifications
An in-progress Cardio workout can appear as a Live Activity on the Lock Screen where your device supports it. Live Activities in the App are local to your iPhone. The App does not use push notifications, push tokens, or a remote server to create or update them.
The App can also schedule optional local workout reminders on the days you choose. These reminders are scheduled on your iPhone by the operating system. No reminder content is sent to us, and you can turn notifications off for the App at any time in iPhone Settings.
8. No Accounts, Advertising, Analytics, or Tracking in the App
FIT by DeLeón does not use:
- User accounts or sign-in systems
- In-app advertising
- Third-party analytics SDKs
- Advertising identifiers for behavioral advertising
- Cross-app or cross-website tracking
- Social feeds or public profiles
- Data brokers
- Data sales
We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
9. Support Emails
You may contact us at contact@fitbydeleon.com with questions, feedback, bug reports, or support requests.
When you email us, we may receive information you choose to include, such as:
- Your email address
- The contents of your message
- Device or iOS information you provide
- Screenshots or attachments you choose to send
We use this information to respond to you, troubleshoot issues, improve support, protect the service, and maintain necessary business records.
Please do not send information you do not want us to receive, including sensitive personal, financial, medical, or health information that is not necessary for your request.
10. Website Privacy
The Website is a static informational website.
The Website does not use:
- User accounts
- Contact forms
- Advertising trackers
- Marketing pixels
- Retargeting tools
- Third-party analytics tools
- Embedded social-media feeds
- Session replay tools
- Browser storage for tracking purposes
- Marketing or advertising cookies
The Website includes ordinary links to the App Store, Instagram, and email. These links open services operated by third parties. Their privacy practices apply once you leave our Website or use their services.
11. Website Hosting and Security
The Website is hosted and protected through Cloudflare.
Cloudflare may process limited technical and security information needed to deliver, secure, and protect the Website. This may include information such as IP address, browser or device information, request data, security signals, and server logs.
Cloudflare may also apply its own protective measures to pages it serves, including strictly necessary security cookies, email-address obfuscation, and automated-abuse detection, when needed to help protect the Website from malicious traffic or security threats.
We do not use Cloudflare for advertising, behavioral profiling, retargeting, or website analytics.
12. How We Share Information
We do not sell your fitness, workout, cardio, route, journal, weight, progress, or Health information.
We may share limited information only in the following circumstances:
- With service providers that help operate our email or Website hosting and security services
- When you direct us to do so or choose to use a third-party service
- When required by law, legal process, or a valid government request
- To protect the rights, safety, security, or property of FIT by DeLeón, our users, or others
- In connection with a business transfer, merger, acquisition, or similar transaction, subject to applicable law
13. Data Retention and Your Choices
App Data
Your App data remains on your device unless you edit or delete it through available App controls, remove the App, reset your device, or otherwise remove the data from your device.
Removing the App from your iPhone may delete the FIT by DeLeón data stored on that device. Because we do not operate a backend that holds your fitness data, we cannot restore it for you.
Apple-managed backups may retain copies according to your Apple backup settings and Apple's own retention practices.
Apple Health Data
You can manage FIT by DeLeón's access to Apple Health data at any time through Apple Health or iPhone Settings. Because the App only reads Apple Health data for display and does not write to Apple Health, revoking access stops that display.
Location Data
Cardio routes are stored with their workout on your device. Deleting a Cardio workout in the App removes that workout and its route from the App. You can revoke location access at any time in iPhone Settings.
Support Communications
We retain support emails for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to you, resolve issues, maintain records, comply with legal obligations, or protect our rights and security.
You may request deletion of support correspondence by emailing contact@fitbydeleon.com. We may retain limited information where necessary for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or recordkeeping reasons.
14. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or information about personal information we hold about you.
Because FIT by DeLeón does not maintain user accounts or collect App data through a FIT by DeLeón backend, most App data is controlled directly by you on your device.
For questions or requests regarding support emails or other information we may hold, contact us at contact@fitbydeleon.com. We may need to verify your request before responding.
We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
15. Children's Privacy
FIT by DeLeón does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the App or Website.
The App does not require an account and does not send fitness or progress information to us. However, if you believe a child has sent us personal information through email, a parent or guardian may contact us at contact@fitbydeleon.com to request deletion.
16. Security
We use reasonable measures designed to protect the limited information we receive through support communications and to maintain the security of the Website.
No method of electronic storage, transmission, or online service is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting access to your device, including by using device security features such as a passcode or biometric lock.
17. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as FIT by DeLeón changes or as legal requirements evolve.
When we make changes, we will post the updated policy on the Website and revise the Effective Date above. Material changes will be communicated when required by applicable law.
